Newport Cricket Club U13 & U15 Girls teams celebrated a Civic Reception 

held in the Council Chambers at the Civic Centre on Wednesday, October 15th, 

to celebrate their outstanding UK National 'Double' Win.

The Right Worshipful, The Mayor of Newport, Councillor Matthew Evans 
presented the girls with their UK Winners Trophies and 
congratulated them on their magnificent achievements. 
The girls took part in a photo shoot in the Council Chambers and surrounds, 

before a buffet for the girls and parents concluded a memorable evening.

UK LT National Champions - The Girls with the Mayor and Mayoress of Newport 

Newport CC U13 Girls Win UK Lady Taverners National Championships

Newport Cricket Club U13 Girls retained the Lady Taverners UK National U13 Championship 

with convincing wins against Narborough & Littlethorpe (Leicestershire) and Ealing (London)

 in the National Finals Day at Leamington Spa.

Newport’s U15 Girl Cricketers complete a unique UK ‘Winners Double’

 The Club’s U15 Girls team travelled to Leamington Cricket Club in buoyant mood for the U15 UK Finals. 

The girls were not to be denied and completed a remarkable UK Winners ‘Double’, 

beating Walmley (Midlands) and Ansty (Sussex) at the National Finals Day.
