Cricket Scorers Courses    

We are looking for new scorers to help our coaches at our Junior teams matchdays during the summer. The courses identified below are ideal for Parents and Young Leaders who are willing to help out and gain a scorers qualification in the process. The club will pay for anyone interested in attending the Introductory Course (£5), in return for scoring some matches for our Junior teams during summer.

15th Jan- Club Scorers course (£30 + costs for lunch if required)

Club Scorer is the course for anyone wanting to score on a regular basis and is the only one to comprehensively teach you how to score. This course is suitable for complete beginners and existing scorers who want to improve their skills. On completion of the course you’ll receive an ECB ACO club scorer certificate.

22nd Jan - Scorers Introductory course (£5)

The aim of this course is to provide you with the basic skills and knowledge to record a cricket match. It won’t teach you everything you need to know, but it will give you the tools and confidence to get started.

Topics covered include:

·         Completing a scoring record

·         Recognising umpire’s signals

·         Standard scoring symbols

Both courses will be held in the Newport Cricket Club Museum.
