Callum Taylor Scores Unbeaten Century

Young Callum Taylor who is just 18 years old, scored a magnificent unbeaten 115 for Newport in their South Wales Premier League match away to Port Talbot on Saturday.
Taylor who arrived at the wicket with the Newport score on 76-2 in 14 overs, batted
throughout the remaining innings scoring 115no. His magnificent innings included
7 fours and 4 sixes and was scored off 102 balls. He held the Newport innings together,
which finally reached an impressive 284-6 in 50 overs. It was Taylor's maiden century
for Newport.
Port Talbot made a great effort to reach the target scoring 260-3 wkts, (M.Samuel 109,
A.Thomas 74 and B.Huxtable 54no) falling just 24 runs short. Zalmai Ahmadzai was the
pick of the Newport bowlers with 1-28 off 10 overs.

In addition to his heroics on Saturday, Taylor produced oustanding performances for
Wales Minor Counties against Shropshire at Pontarddulais on Monday and Tuesday.
Wales scored 315-9, with Taylor 35 involved in an 85 run partnership for the 8th wicket
with Darren Thomas.
It was then Taylor the off spin bowler who took charge of the match, claiming 7-16 in
Shropshire's 1st innings total of just 77 all out. He then went on to claim a further 4-18 in
the 2nd innings as Shropshire, following on, just managed to stave off defeat finishing
on 38-6.
