Newport 1st X1 - 2018 SWPL Champions
Newport CC became 2018 SWPL Champions for the second time in three years, when ironically rain forced the cancellation of the Neath v Pontardullais fixture, and also the abandonment of Newport 's fixture at Bridgend.

Newport who went into the penultimate round of matches with a 30 point lead over Neath, having only lost 1 game all season, clinched the title as the weather ended any faint hopes of Neath catching them.
To cap a fine day, Newport 3rd X1 clinched the SEWCL Div. 4 Title with a fine 172 run win away to title challengers Mountain Ash.
