Newport Cricket Club youngsters Jack Hope-Bell and Harry Wallace celebrated 
their call up to England U19 squads for International ODI and Test match series 
against their South African and Pakistani counterparts.

Both boys have been involved with Newport Cricket Club since very young ages 
and are classified as genuine 'Home Grown Players'.
Jack and Harry have both played Junior cricket throughout their time at the club 
and are currently playing for the Club's 1st X1 in the SWPCL.

Jack is a top order batsmen and off spin bowler and attended Chepstow 
Comprehensive School and Clifton College. He spent a winter playing cricket 
in Melbourne and was given a 'Rookie Contract' with Glamorgan for the 2026 season.
Jack had a taste of the England limelight last year when he represented England U19's 
against Bangladesh.


Harry is the oldest son of former Glamorgan legend Mark Wallace, and is 
currently attending Bassaleg School. He follows his dad in being a 
wicket keeper / top order batsman.

Newport CC Chairman, Mike Knight commented, 'Both boys are very talented, 
their passion for the game and ability shone through when they were first 
starting the game and they have both gone on to reach outstanding milestones 
on their cricketing journey. 
We, at Newport Cricket Club are proud to have played our part in their development 
over the years.  It's a tremendous achievement from the two boys, but also testament 
to the work being done at Newport Cricket Club and Glamorgan. 
We wish them good luck in their cricketing futures and we will be willing them on to 
future successes'
