Newport 3rd's led the way on the weekend with a 222 run win against Tredegar at Spytty Park.

It was a game not to be forgotten for Guy Muspratt and Pravin De Silva who both scored superb 
centuries in a big Newport total of 325-5 in 40 overs. The two came together with the Newport
score on 81-1 off 14 overs and immediately took a liking to the Tredegar bowling attack, putting
on a match winning partnership of 195 runs for the 2nd wicket,
taking the Newport score to
276-2 off 33 overs.

1st's Win Big as Well!
It was a good day for the Club in general with the 1st X1 claiming a stunning 10 wicket win 
against local rivals St. Fagans.
St. Fagans, batting first on winning the toss, slipped from a 92-0 to 191 all out. 
Kamau Leverock 3-34, Scott Thornton 3-42 and Greg Maybury 2-26 being the chief wicket takers.
Newport in reply cruised to victory, with openers Matt Norris and Matt Jones remaining undefeated
in an impressive unbroken partnership of 193, to win by 10 wickets. Norris scoring a fine
undefeated 83, while Jones scored an excellent 89 not out.

Newport claiming maximum points (22pts) for the comprehensive 10 wicket win.
