Newport Cricket Club - Support our Crowdfunder Project

Help us to buy a new Heavy Roller

At the end of last season, we experienced major difficulty with the Club’s 23 year old heavy roller and following an inspection it has been recommended that we have little option, other than to purchase a new roller (Cost £15,500). As you will appreciate this is a significant outlay for the Club to make and we need all members to help us to raise funds to complete the purchase.

Sport Wales – Crowdfunder Grant

The good news is that Sport Wales have introduced a new Crowd Funding Grant, where they will provide ‘match funding’ towards the project costs. Once we have raised 25% of our initial target (25% of £15,000 = £3,750) we then qualify for the grant award from Sport Wales.  in order to access the pledge from Sport Wales we need to meet three criteria :-

 i.  We must reach the Club’s fund raising target - £15,000 (this includes the pledge from Sport Wales)

ii. We must satisfy the required number of donors that need to be found - 100 people for a £15,000 project.

iii. We only have 7 weeks to complete our project, so we have to act quickly.

If we don’t meet these criteria, the Sport Wales pledge will be withdrawn, so we need everyone to help!

Achieving the above requirements won’t be easy, particularly finding 100 donors, so we are asking all Club Members to make a donation through the Crowdfunder appeal. The donation can be any sum (minimum donation £1), but will be important to help us to achieve our 100 donor target which will enable the Sport Wales Grant to be triggered.
